Salvestrols

Salvestrols are natural compounds in the diet which are converted inside diseased cells, by a specific enzyme, into compounds that can destroy the diseased cell. They are part of a natural rescue mechanism and may be essential to maintain good health.

Salvesterols and cancer

In this article, nutrition expert Patrick Holford says:
CYP1B1 is found inside cancerous cells of tumours within the bladder, brain, breast, colon, kidney, liver, lung, oesophagus, ovary, skin, small intestine, stomach and uterus and is considered to be a tumour marker enzyme since it is virtually exclusive to cancer cells. So, CYP1B1 can be thought of as a Trojan Horse inside cancer cells, which merely has to be provided with Salvestrols in the diet in order to unleash a stream of chemical agents that are deadly to cancer cells. In other words, the presence of CYP1B1 in cancer cells seems to have provided cancer cells with the seeds of their own destruction – if you happen to eat foods high in Salvestrols.

In a separate article, Patrick Holford lists Salvestrol rich fruit and vegetables:

Fruits
Apples
Blackcurrants
Blueberries
Cranberries
Grapes (& wine)
Oranges
Strawberries
Tangerines

Vegetables
Aubergines
Artichokes (globe)
Avocado
Broccoli
Brussels sprouts
Cabbage
Cauliflower
Olives
Red/yellow peppers

Herbs
Basil
Dandelion
Milk thistle
Mint
Parsley
Rosemary
Sage
Thyme

It is no exaggeration to say that the discovery of overexpression of CYP1B1 in tumours is one of the most important revelations in cancer research for the past 25 years.

Warning
1. Some cancer therapies can conflict with others. Do not start ANY therapy without consulting your doctor to ensure it’s safe and beneficial to do so.
2. Just because any given therapy worked for someone else does not necessarily mean it will work for you.
3. Although there are many viable alternative cancer treatments, there isn’t a “best” treatment for a certain type or stage of cancer.
