MGN-3
MGN-3 – immune booster
BIOBRAN MGN-3, a non-toxic glyconutritional food supplement (or functional food) made from breaking down rice bran with enzymes from the Shitake mushroom, has been clinically proven to help powerfully enhance depleted immune systems.
Studies
This study: Current evidence from preclinical studies, clinical case reports, and small clinical trials suggests that MGN-3 can be an effective BRM [ biological response modifier] to complement the conventional cancer treatment through upregulating the patient’s immune system, especially in boosting the NK cell activity. MGN-3 appears safe in its application with no adverse event reported to date. It may be used as a complementary immune therapy to reduce side effects, improve treatment outcomes, and enhance long-term survival rate.
Study: There is sufficient evidence suggesting MGN-3 to be an effective immunomodulator that can complement conventional cancer treatment.
This study tells of a now 59 years old patient with inoperable (BRAF-mutant) low differentiated adenocarcinoma of bilary ducts after radiotherapy and two cycles of chemotherapy with a rapid progression of lung, liver and brain metastases. A teatment with BRAF+MEK inhibitors was started, combined with daily Biobran/MGN-3 which can stimulate the immune cells against tumor cells.
After the chemotherapy and prior to the start of second line treatment, the patient had a nearly terminal state of her rapidly progressive disease. Eight months after the combination of MEK / BRAF inhibitor and immunomodulator therapy nearly complete remissions of all metastases was established in CT and MR.
Conclusion: This case report may support a hypothesis that MEK / BRAF inhibitors and type-1 immune cells activating immunomodulators together may synergistic inhibit the tumor growth.
Study: Dietary rice bran and its associated bioactive compounds have been shown to possess immense potential as cancer chemopreventive agents in animal and cell culture studies. In light of the studies reviewed here, the continued investigation into the multitude of rice varieties worldwide and their unique bioactive components holds great promise for optimizing rice bran for future use as a dietary cancer chemopreventive agent.
Study: Dendritic cells (DCs) and natural killer (NK) cells are central components of innate immunity for controlling tumor growth… MGN-3 is known as an activator of natural killer cells, inducer of apoptosis and cytokine production, and modulator of dendritic cell maturation and differentiation in vitro. We have performed a randomized, placebo-controlled study to examine the effects of MGN-3 on innate immune system parameters in 48 multiple myeloma patients… The results demonstrate a clear increase in NK activity in MGN-3-treated patients compared to the placebo group…The present study suggests that MGN-3 may represent an immunologically relevant product for activating innate immunity in multiple myeloma patients…
Study: Our data show that MGN-3/Biobran upregulates NK cell activation markers, stimulates NK cell cytotoxic activity against neuroblastoma in vitro and in vivo and selectively augments the expansion of NK cells.
Study: These results suggest that MGN-3 is a potent natural adjuvant that efficiently activates DCs [dendric cells] and may therefore be useful for mounting an efficient immune response against infections and cancer.

BIOBRAN MGN-3, a non-toxic glyconutritional food supplement (or functional food) made from breaking down rice bran with enzymes from the Shitake mushroom, has been clinically proven to help powerfully enhance depleted immune systems. So successful is this unique and patented MGN-3 arabinoxylan supplement at stimulating immune function that Professor M. Ghoneum of Drew University of Medicine and Science has stated: “I have been researching immunomodulators for over 30 years now and Biobran MGN-3 is the most powerful immune complex I have ever tested.”…continue reading at Biobran.org

Improved immunomodulatory function was observed with use of MGN-3 in a small study of cancer patients. In another study on patients with liver cancer, MGN-3 increased overall response and reduced adverse effects of standard therapies… No adverse effects have been reported following consumption of MGN-3...
