What is Carica Papaya?

Papaya also contains the flavonoid beta carotene, which studies have proven to help protect against lung and mouth cancers.

This study says: Carica papaya originated from Southern Mexico, Central America, and the northern part of South America. It is now cultivated in many tropical countries… C. papaya leaves have been used in folk medicine for centuries. Recent studies have shown its beneficial effect as an anti-inflammatory agent, for its wound healing properties, antitumour as well as immune-modulatory effects and as an antioxidant .
